How to read your Amazon Account Health Rating (AHR)
The Account Health page in Seller Central shows how well your account complies with Amazon's rules. The Account Health Rating (AHR) at the center of that page is the closest indicator of deactivation risk. This guide explains how to read the score, what changes it and which order performance metrics you need to watch alongside it.

What is the AHR, and what isn't it?
The AHR is a color-coded score from 0 to 1,000 that summarizes how well your account complies with Amazon's selling policies. According to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, the score goes down when policy notifications arrive and goes back up as issues are resolved; the policy issues affecting it are listed on the Account Health page.
The AHR is not a sales or customer satisfaction score. Order performance metrics, such as Order Defect Rate (ODR) and Late Shipment Rate, are tracked against their own targets and are covered below. Read the two together: according to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, missing a performance target can still lead to listing removals, restrictions on seller-fulfilled sales or temporary deactivation, even when the AHR looks fine.
Amazon's Business Solutions Agreement lists an AHR below the deactivation threshold among the situations in which an account may be suspended immediately. That is the main reason to monitor the score regularly.
What do the score bands mean?
According to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, the AHR falls into three status bands. "Critical" is not a band; it is the severity of a violation, covered further below.
Key thresholds on the AHR scale
- Top of the scale1,000
- Minimum score for Account Health Assurance250
According to Amazon staff, you need to stay at this level for at least 6 months.
- Where the Healthy band starts200
- Where the At Risk band starts100
Anything below this is the Unhealthy band.
| Band | Score | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Healthy | 200–1,000 | The account is in good standing on policy compliance. |
| At Risk | 100–199 | There are unresolved notifications; the account is moving toward deactivation risk. |
| Unhealthy | Below 100 | According to Amazon, the account becomes eligible for deactivation. |
How does the score change?
- Window: according to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, AHR data is refreshed over a moving 180-day time frame.
- Positive contribution: according to Amazon staff, you gain 4 points for every 200 successful orders fulfilled over the last 180 days. As those orders roll out of the 180-day window, the score can drop again, so an account with falling sales volume can lose points even without new notifications.
- Negative impact: policy notifications lower the score. We could not find a table published by Amazon showing how many points each notification costs.
- Fixing issues: the score recovers as issues are resolved. According to Amazon staff, deleting a removed listing from your inventory does not resolve the issue; handle the notification with the relevant buttons on the Account Health page (appeal, fix, submit documents).
What happens with a critical violation?
Some violations are of "critical" severity. According to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, a critical violation turns the AHR red and shows a score of zero, and you get a 3-day grace period to address the issue before the account is deactivated. For accounts covered by Account Health Assurance, the same statements say this can extend to up to 13 days.
Because these periods come from forum statements rather than an official help page, go by the date in your own notification. With a critical notification, the first step is to read it in full and start the requested action (documents, a Plan of Action, a listing fix) before the deadline.
What is Account Health Assurance (AHA), and who qualifies?
Account Health Assurance is a program that gives sellers who work with Amazon to resolve account health issues extra time and support. Amazon announced it in 2022 for the US and Canada; check Seller Central for its coverage in other stores. According to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, the eligibility criteria are:
- An AHR of 250 or higher for at least 6 months.
- Not dropping below 250 for more than 10 days during that period.
- A valid emergency phone number on the account.
- Not repeating the same violation.
- Once you are eligible, enrollment is automatic; there is nothing to apply for.
What targets do order performance metrics use?
The Account Health page also shows order performance metrics alongside the AHR. According to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, the targets are:
| Metric | What it measures | Target |
|---|---|---|
| Order Defect Rate (ODR) | The share of orders that resulted in a negative customer experience; its components appear on the Account Health page | Under 1% |
| Late Shipment Rate (LSR) | The share of orders confirmed as shipped after the expected ship date | Under 4% |
| Pre-fulfillment Cancel Rate | The share of orders the seller cancels before shipping | Under 2.5% |
| Valid Tracking Rate (VTR) | The share of packages shipped with a valid tracking number | 95% or higher |
| On-Time Delivery Rate (OTDR) | The share of orders delivered within the promised date (seller-fulfilled orders on amazon.com) | 90% minimum; Amazon recommends 95% or higher |
What changed in the OTDR rule in 2026?
According to Amazon's announcement on the Seller Forums, from February 28, 2026, when a seller's OTDR falls below 90%, Amazon deactivates the listings that contribute most to the shortfall, rather than all seller-fulfilled listings as before. If performance is very low or the problem repeats, Amazon can still deactivate all seller-fulfilled listings after notifying the seller.
According to the same announcement, listings deactivated this way can be appealed from the product policy compliance section of the Account Health page. Because these details come from an announcement, check the current text in Seller Central.
Which metrics matter for FBA and FBM?
With FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon), Amazon ships the order; with FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant), the seller ships it. Late shipment, pre-fulfillment cancellation, valid tracking and on-time delivery measure the seller's own shipping. Amazon's OTDR announcement states explicitly that FBA orders are excluded from that metric.
For a seller using only FBA, shipping metrics carry less weight, but the AHR and policy notifications apply in exactly the same way under both models. Check the details on your own Account Health page to see how ODR treats FBA orders.
What should a weekly check look like?
- Note your AHR score and band; if it dropped since last week, find out why.
- Read new notifications on the Account Health page and put each deadline in your calendar.
- Handle open notifications with the buttons on the Account Health page; do not try to clear them by deleting listings.
- If you have FBM orders, check how close LSR, cancellation, VTR and OTDR are to their targets.
- Make sure the emergency phone number on the account is current.
- Aim to keep the score above 250; this is also needed for Account Health Assurance eligibility.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Amazon Account Health Rating (AHR)?
It is a color-coded score from 0 to 1,000 that summarizes how well your account complies with Amazon's selling policies. It appears on the Account Health page in Seller Central, goes down with policy notifications and recovers as issues are resolved.
At what AHR score is an account deactivated?
According to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, an account in the Unhealthy band, below 100, becomes eligible for deactivation. A critical violation can show a score of zero; in that case you need to act within the period stated in the notification.
Is "Critical" an AHR band?
No. The bands are Healthy, At Risk and Unhealthy. "Critical" is the severity of a violation; a critical violation can bring the score straight to zero.
Does deleting a listing fix my AHR?
According to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, no. The notification needs to be resolved through the relevant actions on the Account Health page (appeal, fix or submit documents).
Why did my AHR drop when I had no new notifications?
According to Amazon staff on the Seller Forums, successful orders add points, and that contribution shrinks as orders leave the 180-day window. That is why the score can slip on an account with falling sales volume.
